Local Schools Common Enrolment
Griffeen Valley ETNS is part of the Lucan Common Enrolment System (LCES) along with Adamstown Castle, Esker and Lucan East Educate Together Schools. When a parent/guardian makes an application to one of the schools they are applying to a centralised system. Children are assigned to one of the four schools based on specific criteria.
The primary aims of the system:
– promote inclusive local schools
– improve traffic management and mobility in Lucan
– encourage strong, integrated local communities
– prevent newcomer families from being disproportionally disadvantaged in accessing schools
– allow children access their most conveniently located Educate Together school on a fair, transparent and equal basis
How do I put my child’s name down for the Lucan Common Enrolment system?

All children are entitled to 2 full academic years on the ECCE scheme.
Children are eligible to start the ECCE scheme in the September of the year that they turn 3 years old. For example, a child turning 3 years old in 2025 can be registered on the ECCE scheme in September 2025.
